Kraak Records returns with a mini compilation & concept ep of balkan beats under the name "Balkan Moods" presenting two different balkan tracks produced from Timewarp and Funky Destination.
The ep a-side opens with the track from Timewarp featuring Lusty Apricot on the violin plus the help and direction of dj Scheibosan on the track Tourkishlam. The result is a unique strong blend of tech and rumba-house drums combined with balkanish brasses, live violin & harmonica solos. Timewarp gave a mediterranean vibe on the song while no samples were used and everything was played live to accomplish the mission of composing something original. Budapest based project Savages Y Suefo remixes Tourkishlam by bringing a super funky breaks version over the original.
Funky Destination on the b-side brings to life Balkanarama. A super groovy balkan house tune with percussive feeling and strong beats. The song grooves on till the middle bridge of the song slows down for the flea market and rises again with nice balkan vocal samples and accordion riffs! Bad Monkeys are closing the ep with their DoJaja version blended with ethnic percussions, deep 'n' funky house and balkan beats t o make you move on....
